Meridian Flight Systems has unveiled the Corra UAV!
A revolutionary heavy-lift unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) equipped with hybrid power technology. Designed to address the needs of industries ranging from logistics to defence and government operations, the Corra combines cutting-edge engineering with unmatched performance capabilities.
The Corra stands out for its hybrid microturbine technology, offering over 10 times the autonomy of battery-powered drones. This innovation allows for a range of over 1,000 kilometres and a payload capacity greater than 350 kilograms.
The hybrid system seamlessly integrates a gas turbine with battery support, ensuring both peak power and energy efficiency during long missions.
Key features include Vertical Takeoff and Landing (VTOL) capabilities, enabling the Corra to operate in confined spaces, and all-weather resilience, which ensures reliable performance even in challenging conditions.
The UAV is also certified for Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) operations, making it compliant with stringent airspace regulations.
Meridian’s CEO emphasised the Corra’s transformative potential: “The Corra is not just a drone; it’s a leap forward in UAV design, offering unmatched endurance, flexibility, and reliability for critical operations.”
The launch underscores Meridian’s commitment to sustainability, with plans to transition the Corra’s hybrid system to hydrogen fuel in the future.
This aligns with the company’s vision of reducing environmental impact while pushing the limits of UAV technology.
